About this place
Set on the first floor of Atlas Tower in Hikifune, Twin Leaf Stop-off Cafe combines the relaxed character of a neighbourhood cafe with thoughtfully prepared Japanese teishoku meals. Trays arrive lined with an assortment of vegetable small plates and fresh salads alongside the main dish. From crisp salads tossed in house-made dressings to blanched greens and aromatic soups, every component receives dedicated care to turn an everyday set meal into a balanced, satisfying spread.
A favourite among lunch guests is the Sangen pork cheese mille-feuille katsu, composed of thinly layered pork rolled around melted cheese and fried in a light, crisp panko coating. The kitchen also prepares thick cuts of rich black cod marinated in sweet saikyo miso, generous crab cream croquettes filled with rich bechamel, and hearty beef-and-pork hamburg patties. Whichever main you choose, the colourful presentation and freshly cooked rice make for an appetising, grounded lunch.
The set meals remain available into the evening, making the cafe just as useful for dinner. Guests dropping by after dark can also opt for casual pub plates, such as squid simmered with its liver sauce or fresh artisanal sausages, paired with beer or a pour of sake. Whether dropping in for a solo dinner or lingering over drinks, the cafe provides a welcoming, unpretentious retreat.
